What if the plot idea about the man with many dolls were incorporated in outpost lazarus to some extent? what if Salem and Virgil was created in X's vision? and he would keep many of them elsewhere? or perhaps I need to rename the outposts, so Lazarus is the one where this man who has lost his mind lives?
What if Salem and Virgil is not what they think, what if they are just artificially created? and Eden isn't their mother as they believe but only the result of cloning.

What if like in the doll idea, that he made different versions of his creations? what if there are older models of them, forced to just wait in the dark? like someone without legs, someone who can't see and so forth.
And then use the rest of the idea, but then Etienne would be the knight.
What if Virgil knows, and takes them there on purpose?
